He was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where he began his musical studies in percussion and piano. He continues his percussion studies in Seville, with Professor Pedro Vicedo. He graduated with a degree in Music, specializing in percussion from the Madrid Royal Conservatory of Music and graduated with a Soloist Diploma (Uitvoerend Musicus) from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Mention Cum Laude. He was invited by the University of Michigan, (Ann Arbor) to study under the direction of Michael Udow. Diploma of advanced studies granted by the Department of Art History of the University of La Laguna. (Open Scenarios). Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude, granted by the Institute of Educational Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid.
As a solo percussionist he has performed in numerous cities such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. Anapolis, Germany, Madrid, Valencia, Havana, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Brazil and a long etc. As an orchestral musician, he has belonged to and collaborated with different national and international orchestral groups, the National Orchestra of Spain, the London Philharmonic, among others. He has been a teacher in different national and international courses. His commitment to current music has led him to commission and premiere
various works for solo percussion, ensemble, symphony orchestra and Big Band.
He is sponsored by the drumstick companies “Innovative Percussion” and “Schlagkraft”, as well as the international brand of instruments “Adams Percussion Instruments”. Since 2010 he has been the director of the Festival of Contemporary Music of Tenerife in which artists of recognized international name in the world of percussion have participated. He is currently a timpani soloist with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and percussion teacher at the Canary Islands Superior Conservatory of Music.
